Weekend Escape

This past weekend Rex and I took off on a spur-of-the-moment trip to California. We did not decide what we were doing until Saturday morning, and then we took off for SoCal. We went to Huntington Beach when we got there Saturday. We stayed at the Hilton Waterfront Resort for 2 nights. It was beautiful. Saturday night we strolled along the beach and enjoyed the sunset. Sunday was a bit windy and cold so we spent the day driving along the PCH. We went south first to Laguna Beach, got out there and walked around the beach and strolled the sidewalk a little bit. Then we went north. We drove around Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, then we went to Malibu and stopped at the beach to watch the surfers and the sunset. It was beautiful. On our way back to our hotel, we stopped at the Santa Monica Pier and checked it out. They had a really neat memorial there called the Arlington West. All the crosses represented the soldiers that had lost their lives in the war. It was amazing. Monday we went to Disneyland and California Adventure. We felt like kids again. We spent the night in Anaheim, then home Tuesday. It was a nice get away. We usually go North to Utah, so it was nice for a change. You know me, I LOVE the beach.

Good for you two. It looks like you sure had a good room with such a good view of the beach. I'll bet that Arlington West thing was a tear jerker. I'm glad you were able to get away and have fun. You deserve it. Love, Mom

I love that you went to Disneyland. It would almost be more fun without kids!(less work) Spur of the moment trips can be the best.
